The State of the Planet Environmental Awareness Forum is a groundbreaking initiative aimed at fostering environmental awareness, encouraging actionable climate resilience efforts, and creating partnerships across Zambia to address urgent environmental issues. This forum will serve as the culminating event in a year-long campaign involving community-based projects, corporate partnerships, educational outreach, and sustainable action drives. These activities, which will lead up to the forum, are designed to raise awareness, inspire change, and empower communities to contribute meaningfully to climate action.

Context and Rationale

As Africa’s natural resources continue to face intense pressure from population growth, industrial activities, and urban expansion, the need for sustainable practices has become more urgent. Zambia, like many African nations, is grappling with environmental challenges including deforestation, water scarcity, pollution, and waste management. The forum seeks to address these issues by engaging stakeholders in a dialogue on climate resilience, resource conservation, and environmentally responsible practices. By gathering representatives from diverse sectors, the event aims to create a collective vision and inspire individual and community-led solutions for a more sustainable Africa.

  1. Raise Awareness – Educate attendees on current environmental challenges and their unique impact on Africa and Zambia.
  2. Promote Sustainable Practices – Encourage the adoption of sustainable business and community practices.
  3. Facilitate Collaboration – Connect participants with like-minded individuals and organizations to foster partnerships.
